Board Minutes for
The
meeting was called to order by Bill Ringbom, President, at
Minutes of the
Treasurer’s Report: June income exceeded
expenditures by $164.80. The table
count was 112 and ½. including the STAC and NAP games which engendered
additional table fee costs. Donations
for the shuffling machine were $105.
The bank balance at the end of June was $3,144.95 (including a total of
$218.27 donated funds).
Club Manager’s Report:
Barbara indicated there was nothing
new to report, that we are not losing money on sodas, and that she has ten to
twelve people for lessons each Monday.
Barbara will verify the date of our Christmas party and send the information
to the Board. It will probably be
December 9.
Old Business: Bill has purchased the software for the
shuffling/dealing machine and in practicing with it, has found that it works
well. It is possible to program all the
deals for the month of games. Bill
also reported on the Unit Board meeting held earlier in the day: (1) The Unit Board wants to contribute an
amount to be determined to the purchase of the shuffling machine. The Unit has asked if we would prepare
boards for other clubs if they bought their own boards. We agreed we would be open to doing so after
we had an opportunity to become accustomed to doing our own and could work out
a plan for doing boards of other clubs.
(2) The Unit will match up to
$400 of capital expense for each club.
(3) Gary Yant plans to step down when his term as president ends this
year. (4) The Unit Board has approved a
director training fund to pay $400 for anyone who goes to regional training,
passes, and gets a certificate.
New Business: The election of Board members is coming up in September. Dolores will check last year’s records to
verify whose terms elapse. Bill will
check members to see who might be interested in serving.
