Board Minutes for March 6, 2009

The meeting was called to order by Bill Ringbom, President, at 3:50 p.m. Present were Board Members, Mary Neal, Judy Obermeier, Bill Ringbom, Dolores Soll, Jean Wilson and Bud Zeuschner, as well as Barbara Weiss, Manager.

Minutes of the February 6, 2009 meeting were reviewed and approved.

Treasurer’s Report: The Club bank balance as of February 28, 2009 was $3,649.54. Net income for the month of February was a negative $34.59, with 94 tables for the month. We lost one Friday’s income because of the sectional tournament, which also cost our Club $79.77 over and above the donations for refreshments.

Club Manager’s Report:

1. Barbara will again send the calendar for the rest of the year. The Pro-Am games are scheduled for June 13 (during Ann Dwyer week) and October 31 (during Janice Vivrette week.) The annual meeting will coincide with pizza day in September. The holiday party is not A STAC game; Barbara will ask for a Club Championship.
2. Barbara believes the Unit should in future provide for the sandwiches for Sectional games.
3. Kandi will not be available to teach and direct the Monday evening game for an indefinite period. The participants have asked that the Monday evening games be continued. Some say they can’t attend on Wednesday evening. Torre would be willing to teach on Wednesday evenings if the Monday people would switch.
4. Barbara has purchased for club use a book of laws from the point of view of players rather than directors.

Old Business:

Monday Evening game: Bill will meet with the Monday evening group (for table fees) for the time being and will encourage participants to come on Wednesday. There will be no club expense for Monday evenings.

New Business:

None

The meeting was adjourned at 4:21 p.m. The next meeting will be after the game on Friday, April 3.
